Finch Consulting Limited
We were introduced to Finch Consulting by an existing client, Blueprint Interiors who had asked us to attend an awards ceremony so that we could ensure their social media was being updated throughout the night.
We met finance Director Andrew Millington who was very impressed with the marketing he had seen us produced for Blueprint interiors. We arranged to meet later that week with the rest of the Finch Consulting management team.
As always, we listened as each Director shared their vision and objectives for the business. Based on this full understanding we presented our proposals for how marketing could help reach these goals and were delighted to be appointed on a monthly retainer.
Marketing Audit & Strategic planning
The initial three months was a whirlwind of both strategic planning and tactical activity as Finch had already agreed to sponsor a number of events, attend some key exhibitions and were keen to start promoting their services to existing clients and prospects. They were also refurbishing their offices to create a new training facility so there was lots to event management to do to prepare for their official launch party, as well as an internal staff conference!
Tactical assistance
We carefully balanced their immediate tactical priorities with long term planning needs. This included setting up databases, branded email marketing templates and social media platforms. Finch Consulting had recently rebranded so we met with their creative agency to fully understand the brand. After six months of work we have established the framework for a regular and ongoing programme of marketing activity and had sent out many successfully published press releases and white paper articles. We had helped organised exhibitions and also established a flow quality website advice articles that helped to improve SEO. We also used several of these articles in a monthly email newsletter.
Long term planning
The company’s overall objective is to transition to a mid-market consulting business and establish key services, but with out adding unnecessary layers of management or reporting lines.
Finch appointed ‘heads of service’ we then began to advise them on marketing strategy and the advising consultants how to develop their own knowledge and interest in marketing as they began to prepare their own ‘personal marketing plans’. Our input at this stage was very advisory and we held a number of clinics to explain marketing planning, website SEO, Google analytics and how to use social media.
Return on Investment
Finch Consulting now has a consistent and ongoing programme of regular marketing activity. The entire team is engaged in the marketing process and committed to providing expert content. Our role is steadily transitioning from ‘doer’ to ‘expert adviser’ as the company begins to evolve and grow its in-house knowledge and capability.
